ISAL is compiling for educational and research purposes documents on International law and diplomacy.
SOCIAL
All ISAL’s members within national societies are required to attend monthly social networking events. Ambassadors and High Commissioners are occasionally invited as key note speakers in order to inform ISAL members.
TRIANGULAR FORUM
In order to emphasise the dispersion but unity of African Peoples, ISAL regularly holds Triangular Forum meetings. At such meetings, speakers from Africa, The Americas and the Caribbean are represented and a theme common to participants in the Forum is discussed. In 2021 ISAL will celebrate 40 years anniversary with a series of events.
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES
International Conferences and meetings are essential for raising public awareness and for making African lawyers aware of their responsibility to African peoples and to the wider international community, part of ISAL’s work is to arrange conferences, meetings and seminars.
ISAL will also utilise modern methods of communication by the internet in shaping and sharing ideas.
PUBLICATION
ISAL made history by publishing the very first African Journal of International Law ISSN 1011-663X. It was dedicated to the late Nigerian Jurist Taslim Elias. ISAL has established a Publishing House. The publication of, “South Africa: Betrayal of Colonised People –Issues of International Human Rights Law” ISBN 0 951 5884 00 by SEM Pheko was the first title. Its forthcoming African Journal of International Law and Political Science will be published under ISSN 2516- 2896 in 2021 as part of ISAL’s 40 years Anniversary and to provide in one volume the multi-disciplinary link between international law, Diplomacy, history, Humanitarian Law, Politics, Climate Change Studies, Human and Peoples Rights.
